Slipping - Nov 2013
7 months until we set off and we're getting our hands dirty and with some serious TLC for Le Vessel.
From the 6th until the 8th of November the A-Team (Watson Snr, Jnr, Cam and Matt from YACHTmod) were down at Noakes Boatyard in North Sydney putting in the hours to treat the old girl to some love. The whole slipping went very well with no notable issues and a lot of good maintenance done. The standard buffing, cleaning, antifouling and anodes were done with perfect precision of course with a few little upgrades done as well.
An upgrade of the electronics is in the works for the journey and during the slipping we were tasked with replacing the transducer (top right image) for the sonar, depth, water temp and speed over water. This was a great bonding activity and was eventually completed and is ready to be hooked up. Along with this we replaced the bolts for the rear 'duckboard' which was really just a preventative for the trip and other than this, the boat was looking very impressive.
On top off this we have been fixing a few things week by week and keeping ourselves busy to slowly get through the preparation for the trip. A new stove was installed and a few more electronics but we will do a post on this exciting project when it is complete.
For now that is us and we are really excited for what is to come! More information will be coming soon so keep posted.
